Up and early on Saturday morning, I scurried to catch the Son Jung Wan show after a few hours at Marie Claire with the fashion closet team. I would expect nothing but cheery, feminine looks from Son Jung Wan, and that is exactly what she delivered to the runway. Bright fuschia cashmere coats and fur trims with dashes here and there among the looks. Inspired by the romantic MGM films of the 1950’s and the fashion photography of Gordon Parks, the designer brought on the glamour with a touch of elegance–beautiful!

“Dualism” Glamour at Son Jung Wan’s S/S 2015 Show
Not a season goes by without Son Jung Wan amazing her audience with the gorgeous, feminine looks making their way down the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Her Spring/Summer 2015 looks consist of mixed and matched contrasting elements, or otherwise her own interpretation of yin and yang. Soft silhouettes are mixed with hard edge details or rough fabric textures to set the stage of her “dualism” themed show. All of the looks were beautiful and a wardrobe built for the sophisticated woman. It was exciting at the end of the show to see models wear show-stopping multi-colored sequin pieces down the runway with such ease and glamour. I’ll take one of each, please!
Son Jung Wan Brings Cool Metallics for Fall

Metallic lips, fabulous furs, and pastel metallics marched around the maze set-up in the Pavilion at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Son Jung Wan’s collection had arrived at the Lincoln Center at last. I always look forward to Wan’s collection each fashion week—it brings fresh looks and always remains feminine and beautiful. This one was even more beautiful than her last collection, which is saying a lot! The runway was set-up for models to walk in and out of rows of the audience which gave more people the opportunity to see the fine details Wan put into her collection. I loved the furs and the puzzle-piece work of the dresses. The star-studded audience consisted of “Lily Van der Woodsen,” Kelly Rutherford from Gossip Girl and Adrienne Bailon, star from Cheetah Girls. The entire show was stunning.

I ran into my Chic Galleria friend, Brittany Leung, at the show. Our camera-shy selves decided to take photos with the SJW background– how cute is Brittany in her blue hat?!

Moroccan Beauty at Son Jung Wan
Photos by Rodin Banica
As always, Son Jung Wan put on a gorgeous, feminine collection for the Spring Summer 2014 season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Son Jung Wan is one of my favorite designers to see each season at NYFW—she never ceases to amaze me by her beautiful collections! Inspired by Morroco, Wan used neutral whites, blush, and tan for the base of her collection—adding pops of lemon, amber, and Saharan-desert tones. The silhouettes floated down the catwalk swaying back and forth perfectly. The bright lights made her gold-sequined dress glimmer in a sexy, seductive way—perfect for a red-carpet event or cocktail party. If you wear one of her garments, you will feel like a glamorous woman. Son Jung Wan put on quite the show!
